Alinda Kay (Lawrence) Haynes, 89, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Haynes, made her journey to Heaven on July 14, 2017. She was born July 20, 1927 in Hartford, a daughter of Albert and Pauline (Lyons) Lawrence. Alinda was an avid reader. She enjoyed music, making jigsaw puzzles and taking her daily walks. Her strong religious faith and love for her family, made her the devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend that everyone knew and loved. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Robert Holmes and his wife Lynne, Ronald Holmes and his wife Wilma, Sally Munroe and her husband Ralph, daughter-in-law Onelia Holmes, David Holmes and his girlfriend Kimberly Aubrey; her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Virginia Lawrence and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Charles Holmes; a brother, Albert S. Lawrence; and three sisters, Ethel Gabby, Elouise Hary, and Phyllis Barney. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday (August 1, 2017) at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home between 10 and 11 AM. Burial will follow after the service in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make donations to Connecticut Children's Medical Center Foundation, 282 Washington St. Hartford, CT. 06106 or to the Visiting Nurse and Health Services (Hospice) 8 Keynote Dr. Vernon, CT. 06066.
