April 6, 1945 - May 11, 2018
“I was blessed with a loving family, devoted friends and many good Samaritans that helped me out, along the way. Please pass it forward: Be thoughtful and compassionate to others. The world can always use another kind person.” Arcangela (Cusano) Ficocelli, 73, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of 58 years to DomenicoAntonio Ficocelli, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2018. Arcangela was born on April 6, 1945 in Sepino, Italy and was the daughter of the late Angeloantonio and Carolina (Peluso) Cusano. Arcangela was a talented seamstress and worked for many years in local dress factories. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening and card playing with her beloved friends and ‘paisani’. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family: A devoted wife, mother, nonna, sister, friend and caregiver to many. Arcangela will be dearly missed by her children: Saverio and wife Maribel of Northridge, CA; Maria (Ficocelli) and husband Salvatore La Rosa of Wethersfield, CT; Rita (Ficocelli) and husband Andrew Shack of Oak Park, IL. Her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life: Daniela (La Rosa) and her husband Mike Karanda, Sebastiano and Antonio La Rosa, Natalie Ficocelli, Matt and Zach Shack. Arcangela is survived by her brother Domenico and his wife Concetta Cusano, along with nieces and nephews: Carolina and Michele Rucci and family, Arcangelo and Angela Cusano, Giuseppina Cusano all from Sepino, Italy; Tony and Anna Cusano and family from Montreal Canada; and her Mother–in-Law Maria V Ficocelli of Wethersfield, CT. She is remembered with love by her “Cummare” and childhood friend Pasqualina and her Goddaughter Carmella Faenza. In addition, she will leave behind Franca and Emanuele Amenta and family; Elena and Bill Kerr; Grace, Ryan and little Gianna Patulak, whom she considered family. I, Maria La Rosa (Arcangela’ s daughter) would like to personally, thank her Manager Amy E Beresky and team at Cigna HealthCare in Bloomfield, Ct , for helping and assisting me with my job duties , these last few months, in order to focus on my Mom’s care . I will never forget your kindness; and to the wonderful staff at Mapleview Manor in Rocky Hill, CT, for the compassionate and loving care provided to Arcangela. ALL of you are absolute proof that angels do walk among us. May God bless you all abundantly.
