Edwin J. Kilray

Edwin J. Kilray, MSGT, USAR (Ret.), 87, of Newington, passed away on Tuesday (March 30, 2021) at home. He was born in Hartford, the son of the late Edwin C. and Madeline (Phelan) Kilray. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Westergom) Kilray. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Kilray of Newington; two grandsons, Justin Richard and Eric Richard, both of Newington; a sister, Carolyn (Kilray) Bedula of Wethersfield; and a brother, John G. Kilray of Dedham, MA. While enlisted in the US Army, he spent several years in Korea and other areas in the far east. He retired from the US Postal Service. Edwin's family would like to acknowledge the close interaction of his nephew, John Bedula, over the years and also the compassionate care provided by his loyal and dedicated caregiver, Clover Trotman. A private service with military honors will be held in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill, at a later date.
