Eugene (Gene) Paneccasio, 79, of Lake Park, Fl, and Wethersfield, CT, husband of Sharon (Clark) for 52 years, passed away Thursday, August 25th, 2016, with his loving family by his side, after a short battle with cancer. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Paula and husband Joe Rossetti of Glastonbury, and son Alan and wife Jennifer Paneccasio of Marlborough, and his most precious and adored grandchildren, Joey, Gina, and Dominic Rossetti, and Thomas and Sarah Paneccasio. Gene is also leaves behind a brother Vincent and wife Lorraine Paneccasio, sister-in-law Claudette Paneccasio, brothers and sisters in law Ted and Betty, Bob and Nancy, Karen, Jack and Tonna, and Richard and Cecile Clark, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Vincenzo and Mary (D'Amore) Paneccasio, and brother Alfred (Fred) Paneccasio. Gene's life was centered on his family. Gene and his wife Sharon loved to travel, especially cruising. Weekly dinners (he cooked with his children as sous chefs) was a must. Going to his grandchildren's sporting events, he relished, as well as weekend breakfasts out and shopping sprees with. He also loved to go fishing with his grandchildren and hunting with family in upstate New York. He was an avid golfer and cherished playing golf with his grandson. In his earlier years, he was a championship bowler. Gene belonged to the 1st Governors Horse Guard, Knights of Columbus, and Unico. Gene started his career at Grey Manufacturing, then to Fuller Brush. He then went to Garvin Paper Company as Manager. When Garvin closed, he went to Rourke-Eno Paper Company starting out as a salesman, working his way up as Vice President of Industrial Papers. Friends may call on Thursday September 1st, from 5-7, at Rose Hill Funeral Homes, Rocky Hill. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
