Lillian (Bryers) Purinton, 94, passed into heaven on May 5, 2016. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Clifford, and they are now holding hands and each other for eternity. Lillian was born in Bridgeport, CT, the youngest of 6 siblings, to George Bryers and Mary Booth Bryers. She graduated from Hartford High, worked at Kazarian's, then to Underwood where soon after she met the love of her life, Clifford, and they married on April 14, 1944. She did the bookkeeping for her husband's business. She was an active member on the Ladies Auxiliary of Sacred Heart Church in Old Wethersfield. Lillian kept busy with a variety of activities, including Meals on Wheels, AARP, bowling, and her all time favorites setback and jigsaw puzzles. Throughout Lillian's lifetime, she and her best friend Irene collected stuffed animals for donations to the Fire and Police departments . Lillian made over 200 Humpty Dumpty dolls for all the nieces and nephews born in her family. Lillian leaves her sister Alice Goodfellow of Fairfield, CT and is predeceased by her sister Mary Ott and brothers Jim Bryers, Edward Bryers and George Bryers. Lillian leaves many adored nieces and nephews. Relative and friends are invited to visit with Lillian's family from 9:15 to 10:15 am on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Hartford Avenue, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Ricky Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
