William "Billy" Boyd Dickman, 65, of Coventry, devoted and loving husband to his wife Priscilla (Callis) Dickman of 42 years, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, April 28, 2018. He was born in Hartford, a son of the late Albert and Anne (Kupchunos) Dickman. He loved his Yankees, music, concerts, along with traveling the world, gardening, attracting bluebirds to his backyard sanctuary, and spending his winters swimming and relaxing on the beach at his winter home in Naples, Florida. He devoted his adult life to helping others in anyway he could and his roots were born from his strong religious convictions. Bill's passion was working with precious metals and gemstones and traveling to New York City to develop his men's and women's lines of jewelry. He received his degree from Manchester Community College with numerous financial licensings. He retired from MetLife as a financial planner after 28 years of service. Prior that he worked at International Continental Banking, for thirteen years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in East Hartford and the NRA. Besides his wife, Billy leaves behind a brother, Donald Dickman of San Bernardino, California; his nieces and nephews, June Sample of South Windsor, Mark Hassett, of Hartford, Kim Sullivan and her husband, Ed, of South Windsor, and Amanda, Jeremy Dickman and his wife, Sarah, and their son, Aidan, of Oregon, Dean Dickman and wife, Jamie, and their two children of Somers, Corrine Wentworth and husband, Tim, and their three children of Enfield, Dawn LaRosa and her two daughters of Somers; his mother-in-law and treasured friend, Stella K. Tatem of Manchester; sisters-in-law, Gloria Dickman and Nancy Dickman; brother-in-law, Stephen Callis and his partner, Sherri Cowles of Vernon; sister-in-law, Jocelyn Callis and her two children, Kathrine and Thomas Callis of Tolland; sister-in-law, Lori Callis and her two children, Kellie and Mat Gale and their three children of Colchester, Damon and Georgia Callis and their three children of Silver Springs, Maryland. He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert A. Dickman and Peter Dickman; a sister, Lois Hassett and her husband, Dick; and two brothers-in-law, Arthur B. Callis and Alex Callis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday May 2, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in Three Hierarchs Greek Orthodox Church, 28 Dog Lane, Storrs. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill.
